Senior Independence

Some of our primary senior independence programs include:

Long-Term Care Services
MI Choice provides home care support to adults with disabilities who are 18 to 64 years of age, and seniors who are 60 years and older who qualify for nursing home care. Care Management provides home care support to adults and seniors with disabilities who are 60 years and older.

Mature Workers
The Senior Community Service Employment Program offers on-the-job training for seniors who are 55 years or older.

Medicare-Medicaid Assistance Program
(MMAP) Provides free health insurance counseling for Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries and their families or caregivers.

Long-Term Care Ombudsman
A service that provides assistance and advocacy for long-term care facility residents.

Transportation

Detroit Area Agency on Aging has many options for your transportation needs. These low cost transportation services are provided by SMART, DDOT, your local municipalities and DAAA.
